From Amalfi it takes 50 minutes to reach Sorrento, about 1 hour and 30 minutes to visit the city, depending on the person, and 30 minutes to return to Positano. From Amalfi it takes 45 minutes to arrive in Pompeii and about 2 hours to visit the excavations there. After another 30-minute drive you'll arrive in Naples where you can visit the international museum, the ancient district of Naples including the Castel dell'Ovo, Umberto gallery, Piazza Plebiscito (subterranean Naples is by reservation only), Spacca Napoli, etc… Your driver can then offer recommendations on where to taste a famous Neapolitan pizza or a classic plate of seafood spaghetti. The return trip to Amalfi takes 80 minutes.
From Amalfi it takes about 2 hours 30 minutes to arrive in Nettuno; here you can visit the beautiful American Cemetery where bodies that were previously buried throughout Italy are now laid to rest. It takes about 1 hour to visit and then another hour to arrive in Rome where you can visit the Coliseum, Piazza Venezia and the most important Roman archeological sites, with the option of visiting the most beautiful stores in the city near the famous Piazza di Spagna. The return trip to Amalfi is about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
From Amalfi it takes 80 minutes to arrive in Paestum and about 90 minutes to visit the excavations of the Greek temples there. Continuing on for another 30 minutes we'll reach Vietri Sul Mare, the famous coastal town and birthplace of ceramics and its artists. Pompeii is another 15 minutes away and a visit to the excavations there takes about 2 hours. The return trip to Amalfi takes 40 minutes.
